Patience

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Young adults feel that things have to come quickly. I have felt this way also but after having the guidelines of the people around me I have learned that things will happen at their right time. This relates to love and making the right decisions for certain things. Just like the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13:4…Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. God makes things happen for a reason and just like He makes things happen for a reason God will allow things to happen at their designated time. As children of God we have to learn and understand what it means to be patient. God made everyone in His own way and everyone’s time will come we just have to be patient in everything we do.

I think patience is one of the most important things God expects us all to have. Without patience we wouldn’t have time for others because we would just rush through things and get it over with. God wants us to take time for him and the people we care about. Patience can be found in the smallest things, such as reading a book when you are looking foward to do something. Everyone has patience in them but don’t use it well that is why God cares so much he wants to help us.

Patience is the ability to bear any situation without reacting abruptly. Patience is important in everyday life because people need to learn how to tolerate others, or give others your time of day. Maybe being patient and listening to someone’s problem would comfort them and make their day and maybe even change their life.
Arielle, 16

Patience is the state of endurance and comportment under difficult circumstances. In other words patience is persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance in a negative way. Patience is a very valuable virtue of life. To be successful in life, one needs to be patient. This is the only secret to success. Patience teaches you discipline. Patience lets you discover what is important. Patience keeps you sane. Patience leads to wealth and happiness though it is very rough to practice. Patience wins the race. He that has patience can have what he will. Without patience, people can’t work together and society can’t function at all. With it, we create the possibility of peace between people and between nations. Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet. It really pays to be patient. I believe that is what God expects of us and He will see us through.

Edward, 19

Having patience exhibits strength not weakness.
